Therapy for Adults

We recognize that verbal therapy isn’t the only way to understand and integrate life’s most challenging and elusive experiences. After all, music communicates so much more than words ever could.

In music therapy, we focus on the non-verbal aspects of expression and use sound, instruments, and songs to facilitate therapeutic experiences and accomplish positive outcomes.

No musical experience is necessary to benefit from music therapy. In fact, we encourage prospective clients with a known fear of a music-making to reach out. We work with our clients as empowering and nonjudgmental collaborators looking to share meaningful music-centered experiences.

Our music therapy services support clients that are confronting emotional or psychological concerns including:

  • symptoms of depression

    • apathy, guilt, hopelessness, sadness

    • self-esteem

    • socially withdrawn/isolated, lack of motivation

    • fatigue

  • symptoms of anxiety

    • difficulty sleeping

    • perseveration, concentration issues

    • behavioral challenges

We provide music therapy sessions for adults through an integrative music therapy process that may be informed by humanistic, analytical, or creative principles. Goal areas we may support include:

  • self-expression

  • development of healthy relationships

  • self-esteem

  • resolution of inner conflict

  • greater self-awareness

  • deeper insight

  • healing of emotional trauma

  • spiritual development

  • restoring vitality

  • development of coping skills
